Official Tourism Guide, what is the difference with other guides?

The Generalitat of Catalonia is the public administration that grants the Official Tourism Guide of Catalonia authorizations.

An Official Guide offers you the guarantee that he has passed the selection process, where he has had to demonstrate sufficient knowledge about history, traditions, culture, current affairs,… and must also demonstrate his ability to explain in public.

The main advantage for you is that, only an Official Guide can give explanations inside any monument, and generally we can enter through an independent access, avoiding queues and saving time.

Do I have to be at the starting point of the route well in advance?

The Guide will be 5-10 minutes before the start of the route. In open group visits, we ask you not to arrive late, since out of respect for the group, we will start the route on time. In private visits you are the owner of the time, but please try to be punctual so that you can complete the entire planned program without rushing.

Can I pay the Guide in hand on the day of the Tour?

Prior payment is necessary, especially if your Tour includes tickets to a paid place, private transportation or restaurant.

Can you send me an invoice?

Do you give a discount for large families, for minors, retirees, disabled people… ?

If your visit includes access to a paid location, it is common for ticket prices to have special prices for these groups. Don’t forget to indicate this when making your reservation.
